     Gare l'Arles

Gare l'Arles (Arles railway station) is a French railway station on the Paris-Lyon to Marseille-Saint-Charles line, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.  It was built in 1848 during the creation of the Avignon to Marseille railway, then integrated into the main Paris-Lyon to Marseille-Saint-Charles line, during the creation of the Paris to Lyon and Mediterranean Railway Company (PLM).  It is an elevated station, established at an altitude of 10 metres, as seen in van Gogh's painting of the yellow house. The station has four tracks. The passenger building, completely destroyed in 1944 by Allied bombings, was rebuilt shortly afterwards. It is a station of the Société nationale des chemins de fer français (SNCF) (Frenck state railway company) served by TGV, long-distance trains, those of the TER Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur network and other trains.
