DSB locomotive litra MO 1954

Litra MO 1954 was built by A/S Frichs Maskinfabrik og Kedelsmedie in 1935. Construction number 220. Rebuilt 1964 from MO 554.  Renovated 1976-77.  Revised and painted 1981.  Decommissioned 1984 and transferred to the Danish Railwaymuseum as MO 554. 1996 renumbered to MO 1954. In service 1998-12. Randers 1993-2012. 2018 from Randers to the museum in Odense. Litra MO is a series of five railcars delivered to The Danish State Railways (DSB) from the 1930s to the 1950s. The first series, consisting of only two cars, was delivered by Scandia, with B & W shipyards supplying the engines. In the remaining series, Frichs supplied the engines. During the 1940s, the cars with B & W engines had their two-axle motor bogie replaced with a three-axle motor bogie from Frichs. The first four series were originally delivered with coke boilers, but were rebuilt in 1960-65 with a larger oil boiler for train heating, similar to the one in the last series. The conversion also meant that the number of seats decreased from the original 52 to 37. The MO carriages were combined passeger and light freight carriages and for many years one of the most used train types at DSB, and could be seen all over the country, where they were used to transport both freight, passenger and express trains. The scrapping of the MO carriages began in the 1970s and the last MO carriage was scrapped in 1984.
