DSB travel agency

Danish State Railways, DSB, opened its first travel agency with the name "Rundrejsebureauet"
in 1889 (English: The Round Trip Bureau). The concept of "round trip" is due to an ingenious, international cooperation system for issuing ticket booklets for the various routes in Europe. People always traveled "round", i.e. returned to the starting point. The round trip agency mainly sold pleasure trips, and demand increases rapidly until the First World War. After WW II and until the 1970s, when the airline industry took over, DSB arranged organised holiday trips by special trains to popular destinations including hotels in Europe under the brand Danske Statsbaners Selskabsrejser, Selected trains included sleepers, dining cars and lesure cars. Today, the name is DSB travel agency, responsible for arranging holiday, pleasure and business trips - as one of the country's largest tour operators.
