Danske Statsbaner Litra K 563

The locomotive litra K 563 was built for the Danish State Railways (Danske  Statsbaner)by Maschinenfabrik Esslingen, Germany in 1899. Construction number no. 3000. The locomotive was in full circuit until 1952 in both Jutland and Sealand. The locomotive was reserved in 1952 and decommissioned 1956, where it was transferred to the Railway Museum. The locomotive was later renovated and has been running as a museum train.  It is  now on exhibit in Danmarks Jernbanemuseum (Danish State  Railway Museum). The litra K-series are steam locomotives, built in 100 copies between 1894 and 1902, numbered K 501 to K 600. The locomotive in the litra K-series is 14.82 meters long over the buffers including tender. It weighs 69.3 tons. It can run at 100 km/h and can pull an express train of 180 tons, a passenger train of 300 tons or a freight train of 480 tons.
