Gare de Montvalent

Gare de Montvalent (Montvalent railway station) is a closed French railway station, on the line from Brive-la-Gaillarde to Toulouse-Matabiau via Capdenac, located in the commune of Montvalent, in the Lot department in the Occitanie region. The Montvalent station was put into service in 1862 by Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans (PO). In 1896, the PO Company indicated that the station's revenue for the entire year was 11,277 francs. The passenger buildings were restored in 1929. Originally the station included a siding and a dead-end track for the goods shed. The station was closed in the 1970s, the stop was maintained for some time. Only the main track is left. All the buildings are still there, because they were bought by a private individual. The Montvalent station is situated between the open stations of Saint-Denis-près-Martel and Rocamadour - Padirac. It is separated from Saint-Denis-près-Martel by the closed station of Floirac.
