Great Little Trains of Wales

The Great Little Trains of Wales (Welsh: Trenau Bach Arbennig Cymru) is the name of a joint marketing scheme formed in 1970 to promote some of the narrow gauge railways of Wales and encourage visitors to Wales. As well as marketing the railways, the scheme allows visitors to purchase a discount card, allowing reduced rates on all the lines. The railway lines, mentioned on the postcard are: Vale of Rheidol Railway (603 mm), Fairbourne Railway (311 mm), Ffestiniog Railway (597 mm), Llanberis Lake Railway (603 mm), Bala Lake Railway (600 mm), Snowdon Mountain Railway (800 mm), Talyllyn Railway (686 mm), Welshpool and Llanfair Light Railway (762 mm), Great Orme Tramway (1,067 mm) and Llechwedd Slate Caverns (610 mm). Quote from their web-site: "Experience the beautiful Welsh countryside: on little railways that are passionate about providing a warm welcome and an amazing experience. Take your time as we transport you on a relaxed journey, an ideal little excursion."
