Locomotive DSB Litra D 826



Locomotive DSB Litra D 826 is a Danish locomotive. Built by Sächsische Maschinenfabrik zu Chemnitz, Germany in 1905 for Danish State Railways. Build number 2945. Rebuilt in Denmark 1929 from D 821. Note changed number.  Compressed air brake from 1939. From 1941 front lantern with gas lighting.
Rebuilt in 1947 for oil firing as an experiment. Oil heating removed in 1948.The locomotive manily served in 1st District (East of Storebælt) until 1994. It featured in the movie "I går og i morgen" (Yesterday and tomorrow) 1945 and featured also in the TV series Matador episode 1, 1978.  Drove in 1978 special train on the Assensbanen due to town festival. Drove the same year also special train on Fåborgbanen. Drove in 1979 special train on the Vemb, Lemvig og Thyborøn railway. D 826 was later set up, first in Hvalsø 2001-11  and later in Gørlev 2011-2024.
