Locomotive NS 1302

Locomotive NS 1302 is part of the NS locomotive series 1300. It  is an electric locomotive that was used by the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch State Railways) between 1952 and 2000.The 1300s were built by Alsthom in Belfort, France. Locomotive NS 1302 in the colour turquoise was delivered 4 July 1952 as part of first order. The 1312-1316 were delivered as a follow-up order in 1956. From the 1312 onwards, the locomotives were no longer delivered in turquoise, but in Berlin blue. The ten previous 1300s had already been repainted in that colour. Later all the 1300-locomotives were painted (almost) completely yellow with a large NS logo on the side walls. The 1300 was the strongest locomotive of the NS for many years. In 1999, the last 1300s were taken out of service after 47 years and most of the locomotives were scrapped in 2004. NS 1302 was preserved as museum locomotive.
