Viaduc du Malvan




Viaduc du Malvan (Chemins de fer de Provence) (The Malvan viaduct) is an arched bridge located in the commune of Vence in the Alpes-Maritimes. Its first completed construction dates back to 1890 with
the inauguration of the Grasse - Draguignan section of the Central-Var line. This viaduct was one of the many viaducts operated on the Central-Var line (Nice - Vence - Grasse - Meyrargues). During the war in 1944, several viaducts were destroyed on the line; the Malvan viaduct remained standing. Several other structures on the line having been destroyed.  In 1945, the decision was made not to rebuild the portion of the line that passes through the Malvan viaduct; it was therefore downgraded, its platform lost its rails and was assigned to the municipalities, which deplored this dismantling. In 1966 it opened as a road bridge,
